I am not outraged by that or anything else about him.  Congratulations to him.

He embodies hope and represents it.  I think many are going to be disillusioned when they realize that the President doesn’t have as much power as they think.  Independence from foreign oil has been promised for about 40 years.  Promises by Presidential candidates don’t go far; remember “No New Taxes!”?  Do you think Bush really wanted to raise taxes?

Even though the race got ugly both times, I think both candidates were, in the end, very respectful.  Where do we go from here.  No one knows, regardless of who would have won.  As Clinton learned in 1994, one party rule can easily backfire.  The Contract With America was born and the Republicans took control of the House and Senate.

The one thing in the election season that I did find outrageous was that most democrats, at least in my area, ran as “Not Bush” and that was it and it worked.  Pundits said that at least one candidate “just happened to be in the race at the right time” and beat his incumbent Republican foe.

Oh the one other thing, I don’t like that it was the man with the most money who won.  That will bother me in any election.

Good Luck President Elect.
